"I searched for God among the Christians and on the Cross and therein I found Him not. I went into the ancient temples of idolatry; no trace of Him was there. I entered the mountain cave of Hira and then went as far as Qandhar but God I found not. With set purpose I fared to the summit of Mount Caucasus and found there only ‘anqa’s habitation. Then I directed my search to the Kaaba, the resort of old and young; God was not there even. Turning to philosophy I inquired about him from Ibn Sina but found Him not within his range. I fared then to the scene of the Prophet’s experience of a great divine manifestation only a “two bow-lengths’ distance from him” but God was not there even in that exalted court. Finally, I looked into my own heart and there I saw Him; He was nowhere else."

"The moral purpose of a man’s life is the achievement of his own happiness. This does not mean that he is indifferent to all men, that human life is of no value to him and that he has no reason to help others in an emergency. But it does mean that he does not subordinate his life to the welfare of others, that he does not sacrifice himself to their needs, that the relief of their suffering is not his primary concern, that any help he gives is an exception, not a rule, an act of generosity, not of moral duty, that it is marginal and incidental - as disasters are marginal and incidental in the course of human existence - and that values, not disasters, are the goal, the first concern and the motive power of his life"

'20/20 Tunnel Vision' by Graveyard

— Lights Out

Shaking, aching, faking, trying to be on this,
Admit it to myself, I’ve got nobody left to call a friend,
I wanna drink again.

I remember a friend asked me how did I manage to be so calm and bear up with my father’s death last year without shedding any tears?

Well, it’s pretty simple.

It’s just, I keep looping on Monty Python’s ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ in my brain. Which, incidentally, a song to play at my funeral as well.

I’ve learned and accepted the inescapable fate of being a human throughout my life (in a world that prefers to renounce and shun away from the reality of death), I have to say that it didn’t really frighten or demoralise me. I believe that we’re already dead the moment that we’re born. Paradoxical and morbid to some, but as soon as we accept that fact, we’re prepared to accept almost anything.

Death is certain, it’s life that’s not. Crying, wailing or whining over something that cannot be changed is pretty useless I guess. We just need to keep moving on and make the best out of it. As Eric Idle put it:

“Life’s a piece of shit,
When you look at it,
Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke, it’s true.
You’ll see it’s all a show,
Keep ‘em laughing as you go,
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.”

But again, I don’t really care where I’ll go when I die. Just so you know.

Seek harmony in an everlasting relationship.

Find it in things, in tangible materials, in man-made things unmoved by feeling, in art, in poetry, in sounds, in music, in literature, in philosophy, in science, in numbers and letters, in an idea, in a concept, in myriads of non-sensical system of beliefs, in the glorious colours of nature, in sounds of insects or animals, in the air, in the water, in the rock, in the enticing rays of sun and the moon, in stars that spans over infinite galaxies, in the dark, in the light, in solitary, in all things that make a rejoinder with your limited senses.

But, never seek it in an irrational, degenerate, emotional, dishonest, selfish, delusional, manipulative, paradoxical, inconsistent, dejected little pig-skinned creature that will become invalid once its’ heart stop pumping blood, a finite senseless idiotic beings, a malicious alluring liabilities, a cruel unsettling sadistic killing machine, a psychotic self-proclaimed master of all masters, a chaotic mess.

You won’t find harmony nor serenity in such connection. Hence, never try to find harmony in relationship with human beings. In fact, there’s no such thing as harmony when it comes to such relationship.

Hunt for a relationship that transcends time, that surpass consciousness, that defies mortality.

Seek harmony in everything else but human beings.
